Asbestos Containing Materials Survey
Before starting any demolition, rehabilitation, or renovation of commercial spaces, itβs essential for worker safety and regulatory compliance to conduct an Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) Survey. Asbestos, commonly found in older building materials, poses significant health risks, including lung cancer and mesothelioma, if its fibers are disturbed and inhaled. An ACM Survey identifies asbestos-containing materials, allowing for safe management, removal, or encapsulation before construction activities commence. In 2023, A3 Environmental Consultants performed an ACM Survey for the College of DuPage in advance of a building renovation, ensuring a safe work environment for both the contractors doing the work and the students and faculty attending the college. A3E’s ACM Survey was in compliance with all relevant regulations. This proactive approach minimized health risks and potential project delays, demonstrating a commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
Clean Construction Demolition Debris – Soil Testing
In addition to our ACM Survey services, A3E was engaged to sample soil that was scheduled to be removed for foundations, footings and a patio area as part of the renovation. In an effort to drive down costs for soil removal, A3E was engaged to certify the soil to be removed as “clean”. This designation allows the soil to be deposited in a CCDD landfill which is substantially less expensive than a subtitle D landfill. This saves on overall costs to redevelop at the site.
