Vanishing Point.

This oil blending facility in Hammond Indiana is on the site of the former Pullman Train Car manufacturing facility. Its co-tenant was an experimental coal – coke manufacturer and an aluminum smelting plant. Despite heavy industrial uses that sent up numerous red flags, A3 Environmental Consultants were able to help our client satisfy the fears of a potential buyer of this massive facility.

In large part we did this by going the extra mile for our California Merger & Acquisitions client. We walked in to the City of Hammond Indiana, Department of Environmental Quality. We did an in-person file review of the voluminous records they had and were able to clear this property for sale to its new owner. It took some time, but the effort was well worth it and less expensive and more focused than a Phase 2 ESA would have been.

We gave them the peace of mind they were buying a financial asset not an environmental liability.

On an old property with heavy historic industrial uses, nothing is going to completely prevent concerns when a property is changing hands. With thorough science from A3 Environmental Consultants, those fears can be made vanishingly small.
