You’re looking for the Maximum Allowable Concentration (MAC) Table to download as a spreadsheet (xlsx) because you want to do something fancy with a database. I wanted that too and was frustrated to find that Illinois doesn’t have an official download. I had to make my own.
Let’s get you taken care of.
Maximum Allowable Concentration (MAC) Illinois Download Microsoft Excel Version
There are some things you should think about.
- First, this table gets updated from time to time.
- Send me an email at MAC@A3E.com and get on the distribution list.
- If you find any errors on the table or have any questions you can email me at the same address.
- If you want to call me, ask for Tim at (630) 507-9002
- The most recent revision for MAC is August 27, 2012
- You can find the PDF from the Illinois EPA by clicking here.
- There was some weirdness with the MAC logic between the Chicago, Populated Area, MSA and Non-MSA areas. I spelled that out in the “Data Freshness” column. When in doubt, I took the strictest of the limits.
It’s all about the Karma Points
You might be asking yourself why I took the time to build a spreadsheet of something that can be found in the PDF. Well, I know I was looking for it and was disappointed to not be able to find it. Apparently you are looking for it too. I’d really like to use this opportunity to suggest that your company and my company work together. You should check out our services at the A3 Environmental Consultants home page. We work for engineering and environmental companies all the time. Typically we get called when you have a project that is too big, too small, geographically undesirable, or if your staff doesn’t have the skills ours does. We have a staff of 21 people and would be happy to help you out either as a turn-key subcontractor, or a super-secret white label ghost writing consultant that your client never knows about.
Either way, we should get to know each other.
So to that end, if you like my spreadsheet and want me to keep maintaining it, you should send me an email at MAC@A3E.com and give me an “attaboy” so I know I’m not just wasting my time. I’ll lock down your email address and let you know when updates come around.
