A3 Environmental Consultants is an environmental consultant providing Clean Construction Demolition Debris (CCDD) services which is a less expensive alternative for disposing of soil from construction projects. We wrote extensively about how to understand Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) regulations in this article: Understanding CCDD, A Guide for Regular People. The following paragraphs are project write-ups explaining briefly a few projects, who we worked with, and the projects we worked on in the past year.
CCDD Delineation & Investigation – Vandalia, IL – IDOT
A3E, partnered with Weston Solutions, conducted sampling and surveying work at a local IDOT facility to facilitate construction and excavation. Sampling was conducted in line with IDOT PSI parameters, which included comprehensive soil and groundwater sampling, site surveying and delineation, and management of field activities. A3E was also responsible for reporting investigation activities to IDOT, which included information regarding delineated CCDD and subtitle D material based on sampling parameters. All this was done utilizing specific IDOT formatting for all reporting activities, and all relevant IDOT forms and documentation.
CCDD Field Delineation & Management – La Salle, IL – IDOT
A3E, partnered with Weston Solutions, conducted field oversight and delineation along a large IDOT corridor in La Salle, Illinois. Responsibilities included data and historical research into several known RCRA sites as well as local sites of potentially hazardous material, procuring field samples to confirm proper soil classification, management of any impacted material on site, and field oversight of all excavation activities. Daily comprehensive reporting to IDOT, properly using standard IDOT forms and documentation, was also performed based on field activities.
CCDD Field Delineation & Management – Various Locations – IDOT

Responsibilities included data and historical research into local sites with potentially hazardous material, procuring field samples to confirm proper soil classification, management of impacted material on site, and field oversight of all excavation activities.
